Produced by Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, Napa Valley, the famed red wines laureate of “1976 Judgement of Paris”.
On the label, the hand-prints comprise the Hands of Time exhibit, an enduring tribute to the many people who contributed to the winery’s history over the years and who have gone on to become celebrated winemakers and viticulturists in their own right.
2018 vintage is a blend of 71% Cabernet Sauvignon and 29% Merlot, aged 16 months in 100% French oak barrels. Cool temperatures in September of 2018 made for a extended hang-time, allowing grapes to ripen and mature slowly with ideal balance and nuance.
By producer’s own words: “This Napa Valley red blend offers inviting aromas of blackberry and blueberry fruit along with hints of violet and white pepper. Medium-bodied, the wine has a lingering, round mid-palate with rich fruit flavors and a touch of dark chocolate. Food-friendly and approachable, the 2018 Hands of Time pairs equally well with shredded pork tacos, grilled chicken or beef sliders.” – Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars
