Soprasole is a wine made from 100% Vermentino grapes. The fruits are sourced from the vineyard of Is Crabilis, near Ussana. Much of the vineyard is composed by old vines of 45 years age. The vineyard is located away from the coastal area. Elevation between 150 meters and 180 meters above sea level. The bedrocks beneath the regolith are mostly geological marine deposit. Calcareous content is rich in the vineyard soil.

Key knowledge that you need to know:

  • Vermentino is considered indigenous to Sardegna, where it is widely cultivated and has deep historical roots.
  • Soprasole, meaning ‘above the sun’, is a tribute to the stunning landscape of Sardegna, brilliant light illuminating white cliffs and emerald vineyards.

After the harvest, the juice obtained from a soft pressing of the grapes is fermented in stainless steel vats with its natural yeast, at a controlled temperature of 15º. After fermentation, the wine ages in stainless steel vats with its lees for 4 months. Wines like Soprasole are commonly grown and made. According to the DOC rule, the bottling has to be completed on the island. Currently, there are around 1500 hectares of vineyard in Sardegna are dedicated to make Vermentino di Sardegna wines.

The winery of Pala started in 1950, founded by Salvatore Pala. Ever since the beginning, the winemaking had been dedicated to native varieties of Sardegna.

The wine is desired to consume fresh. Open now, it has a bright straw yellow color with greenish reflections. Persistent floral aromas with a touch of herbaceous notes and a hint of lime.
