Teliani Valley wines (including Mtavruli brand) started in 1997, founded by two young winemakers. Together the winemakers started to apply their skills to make true Georgian wine. It takes both science and traditional art. Currently the team manages a total of 700 hectares vineyard in Kakheti, and the Teliani Valley cellar is located in Telavi. Eastern side of Georgia, not far away from Azebaijani border.
Mukuzani is one of Georgia’s 29 ACO level wine appellations. It is possibly the most well-known dry red style wine in the country. Local climate allows Saperavi grapes to ripen at optimal condition, usually yields better tannin profile and more ideal sugar level. Different from neighbouring villages, the wine is only a Mukuzani if fermented until completely dry.

Teliani Valley’s Mukuzani is a 100% Saperavi wine. The Saperavi grapes from the designated vineyards meet the terroir conditions to grow small, concentrated fruit clusters that make profoundly pigmented and bold wines rich in body and tannin. This Mukuzani is characterized by the dark ruby colour and sharply expressed aromas of cherries that are in balance with an elegant palate.
